North Shore Classic Run Details
The North Shore Classic Half Marathon and 5K starts and finishes between St. Johns and Central Ave. Start time for the 5K is at 7:00 AM with the half marathon starting at 7:30 AM on Sunday, June 6th. We’ll be updating this website regularly with live race details, so be sure to check back periodically for up-to-date information.

Course Map
The race steps off in uptown Highland Park, making its way through the beautiful tree lined streets of Highland Park’s neighborhoods.
You’ll pass through Ravinia, tackle rolling hills, enjoy sweeping views of Lake Michigan and take in historic sites like Fort Sheridan, a former Army post from the 1800s, before heading back to your finish line and post-race festivities.

5K

Whether you’re aiming for your first race or chasing a personal best, this route offers rolling hills and a memorable climb up Egandale Road between Park Ave and Vine Ave. It’s not flat—but it’s rewarding. You’ll wind through a beautiful neighborhood loop before crossing the finish line and celebrating at our post-race party with food, refreshments, and more!

Kids Dash
Get ready for big smiles and little strides at the North Shore Classic Kids Dash!
Open to kids ages 2–10, this fun-sized event is the perfect way to introduce young runners to race day excitement. With distances tailored to each age group, every child gets their moment to shine:
2–4 year olds: 50 yards
5–6 year olds: ¼ mile
7–10 year olds: ½ mile
The race kicks off at 10:45 AM, with lineup beginning at 10:30 AM. Staging takes place at the corner of Elm and St. Johns. For safety and smooth reunions, one parent or guardian may enter the finish chute with the “Parent Reunite” tab from their child’s race bib.

Pacers
Fleet Feet Training Program will be providing pacers for the half marathon. Pacers can be found in the start corrals and will be holding a sign with their goal finish pace.
Pacers will be provided for following finish times: 1:30, 1:40, 1:45, 1:50, 2:00, 2:10, 2:20, 2:30, 2:45 R/W, 3:00 R/W, 3:30 R/W.
*Note: Joining with a pacer does not supersede your corral assignment.

The deadline to add packet mailing to your registration is May 16th, 2027 at 11:59 PM CST. Please note, we are unable to mail out packets after the packet mailing deadline has passed.
Note: Registered runners can pick up their Highland Park race packet early at the Soldier Field 10 packet pick at Fleet Feet South Loop.

Complimentary parking is available for up to 2 hours with validation available at Fleet Feet South Loop. This location is also accessible via the CTA. Red/Blue/Orange and Green Lines stop at Roosevelt, just a few blocks away from your packet pick-up location.
Parking Information
Parking will be available for participants in the Metra Lots and Downtown Highland Park around the start/finish area. Please DO NOT park in private lots and avoid parking between St. Johns on the West, Elm Place on the North, Linden on the East and Central on the South.
Road Closures
– Central Ave between Green Bay Road and St. Johns will close at 6:00 AM
– Elm Place between Green Bay Road and St. Johns will close at 6:30AM
– As the race proceeds, rolling road closures and restrictions take place throughout Highland Park and are monitored by the Highland Park Police Department.

Age group awards will be given to the top three male and female winners in the following age groups: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75 –79, 80-84, 85+.
Wheelchair Division
Overall Wheelchair awards will be given to the top male and female in the Wheelchair Division.
