To our North Shore Classic and North Shore Turkey Trot friends and family,
On July 4th, tragedy struck our beloved community. This Thanksgiving will be our 12th North Shore Turkey Trot and next June will be the 45th North Shore Classic Half Marathon and 5k. Not only have our events been intertwined with the town for many years, but our office and staff are housed in North Shore as well – so we feel first-hand the devastating impact this has caused.
We have spent time reflecting on how to move our events forward in light of what occurred and felt it only appropriate to honor the victims, and this community – and help lift them up in this difficult time.
We are proud to announce the North Shore Classic event that will be held on June 4th, 2023, will now become the HP Strong Half, 5k, and new 1 mile run. And, for those that cannot join us in person, but would still like to participate, we will offer a virtual option as well.
Our new logo has been redesigned to honor the 7 victims through the leaves of the tree and we will be converting our charity for this event to benefit the Highland Park Community Victims’ Fund. In addition, Ventures Endurance will commit to donating a portion of our proceeds to this charity. Donations and fundraising, as always with our events, will continue to be a large part of the HP Strong event. Registration is open, and fundraising can begin now as well.
Additionally, the Turkey Trot taking place on Thanksgiving Day, November 23rd, 2022, will also be converting its charity to the Highland Park Community Foundation’s Victims’ Fund and we will open this event to donations and fundraising, as well.
We will be looking for partners in the community to help us make this post race event a celebration of our HP community. More information will come soon.
We’re committed to honoring and giving back to this community and look forward to continuing to be part of this family for years to come.
